The most recent General Congregation 35 identified the important apostolic graces which flow from closer networking with one another. Given the geographic breadth and apostolic diversity of the Jesuit social apostolate, we have discovered that the service of faith seeking justice is multiplied when we have greater awareness and familiarity with one another. With this recognition, we can then begin to enrich and inspire one another’s efforts through prayerful solidarity, informed advocacy, shared research, and apostolic innovation and witness. Given the new technical and communications now possible, we hope this website might encourage the first step of building our awareness and facilitating contact between the social justice efforts now underway by the Society of Jesus and the wider Ignatian family.
We are grateful for the early and ongoing support and consultation from Social Justice Secretariat Fr. Fernando Franco, S.J. and Ms. Uta Sievers at SJS office.
May we grow in our awareness and solidarity with one another and with those we accompany in serving the Society’s mission of proclaiming a faith that does justice.
In Our Lord,
Rev. G. Thomas Krettek, S.J.
